[Top Secret] Comedy Show
The Top Secret Comedy show was something we did for Video In My Back Yard or VIMBY FEST, a web content festival out in LA. The festival features unique content from different cities from around the USA. For Baltimore, I wanted to showcase the comedy scene, which I think is up and coming and under the radar. The goal was to shine some light on a great show called the Top Secret Comedy show hosted by Eric Glaeser. The concept is a crazy one. Each comic walks on stage with an enevelope full of joke premises they've never seen before written by their fellow comedians. The first time they see the jokes are when they open it on stage. It's a dangerous game, but that's Top Secret. It was a fun night and ultimately turned into an entertaining video. Check it out and let us know what you think.
STEP - A short comedy shot On iphone 6 w/ Ztylus Camera Kit
I'm jealous of kids these days, growing up I knew I always wanted to tell stories, but equipment was costly. Now, everyone practically has an HD camera in their pocket, so I wanted to challenge myself to see what I could produce with my iphone. Luckily, I teamed up with Ztylus and they sent me their Lenses adapter kit for the iPhone 6. It's a pretty cool device that revolves to provide for 4 different lenses options. A macro, wide, fisheye, and a circular Polarizer.
4-in-1 Revolver
The script was something that I've had for a while. I wanted something that would be able to be shot in a few hours. My iphone isn't the best on batteries and was weary about finishing.
After unboxing the ZTYLUS, it attached easily to my iphone and I dug the sturdiness of the case.
Typically, the iPhone lenses have a wide view, but the wide angle on the Ztylus gave it this extra cinematic feel that I dug a lot. I used the Wide angle lenses attached for most of the shooting for this short.
I didnt' want the footage to be shaky so I took an attachment from a selfie stick, (No, I didn't own one prior) and used that to attach the iPhone to my tripod and slider. I think the result turned out nicely.
Cameras just keep getting smaller and smaller.
I was concerned about the quality of the HD image from the iphone, so I wanted to shoot a location that maybe could make up for it. I brought out the actors to Federal Hill in Baltimore for the iconic overlook. I think it was a perfect spot for a little romance. Unfortunately, it was crazy windy and I didn't have a proper sound guy, but I think the shot is still pretty epic.
My two Actors , comedian Eric Glaeser and actress Amee Walden were super fun to work with and I appreciated their patience through the whole process.
As far as the performance of the iphone and the Ztylus lenses adapter, I think it supports my case for the fact that you can make anything these days with your phone. Yes, there were plenty of limitations, I learned in the future to shoot more things "center" framed as the iphone tends to have some warping on the edges that distort faces. The "wide angle" helped the situation. The Macro also was very useful for extremely close up shoots. I didnt' find the Fisheye in video mode that useful, but it was pretty awesome in picture mode. Overall, I was happy with it.

2014 Recap
2014 was a solid beginning for ATB, it was our first year in business and it was a success from that stand point. We got to work on some independent Projects like a Short Film "The First Promise" that got into the Rose Bud Film Festival, edited a documentary for "Future" that aired on MTV2, and we worked with some super star Athlete's like Cam Newton and Alex Ovechkin for the Beat's By Dre campaign. We also focused on making Baltimore a better market and a better place. Highlighting Tech Firms like Smart Logic and NewsUp as well as working closely with the Warnock Foundation on several projects. Overall, it I'm proud of the work we've done and look forward to kicking butt in 2015.
Warren's Wood Works - Regional Commercial
The Eastern Shore of Maryland holds a special spot in the our hearts here at ATB Productions, so when we got a chance to make a Regional Commercial for Warren's Wood Works, we were happy to go back. The Warren's Wood Works family was a bunch of good people, which you could expect on the eastern shore.

Sometimes, ATB Productions gets to have a little fun, so for the holiday season we teamed up with comedians, Josh Kuderna, Peter Muth, and Alex Braslavsky to produce some original content.

We rode up to New York City to spend some time with Marz and her team to promote their new EP, Blur, which will be released 12/9, just in time for Christmas.

We've been working with e-dubble for a while now, and one of the video we worked on has just gone over a half a million views. Pretty exciting stuff from a musician who we think is still well under the radar in this area. Check out the video and make sure to check back in as we are dropping another video very soon.

MAISON JULES - SPRING COLLECTION (BEHIND THE SCENES)
ATB had the privilege to tag along famed fashion blogger and photographer, Garance Dore, as she works for Macy's brand "Maison Jules". The shoot was in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina and it was awesome to watch Dore work.
THE FIRST PROMISE (SHORT FILM)
I was looking to do a narrative, something simple in terms of set up, where the short relies on creating a feeling in order to be successful. With my wife, ben Affleck, and Matt Damon as motivation, I made "The First Promise" as a way of trying to tell a story that had some truth to and in it's simplicity, hope to evoke a set of emotions.
Special thanks to Josh Canady for the music and Abby Fanara and Josh Kuderna for playing along.
I'M JUST BEING HONEST - DOCUMENTING THE FUTURE
Future is everywhere, the ATL Dungeon raised artist, recently released his album "Honest" that teamed up some the industry's best including, Kanye, Pharrell, and Andre 3000 to produce an album that LA Reid and the Epic team should take pride in. ATB's J. Leland Malinski and Andre Ward worked with director JD Anderson to edit this documentary that chronicles Future's life as he travels the globe and prepares the world for this take on music.
"Visually, the album has some highlights. Andre Ward still puts the Collin Tilley directed "Honest" music video as like the bench mark for right now.
One of the most interested points in the documentary came from Rico Wade of Organized Noize founders of Outkast, Goody Mobb, TLC, who said that Future is giving the next generation a "direction". While editing this documentary this was shot over a year, ATB didn't hear anything like Future on the radio, now it seems like every third song I confuse someone else's with Futures. So, it seems like Mr. Wade was right. Check out the Doc and let us know what you think.
Appearances by BUSTA, MIKE WILL MADE IT, BIG BOI, WIZ, PUSHA-T and more.
NEWSUP @ WTMD'S FIRST THURSDAYS
WTMD's hold First Thursdays on the Canton Waterfront Park, a free music and venue event with acts like Moon Taxi and The Hold Steady. I was excited to have NewsUp.me invite me out to hang out with them, play the news, enjoy the food and drink, and listen to some good music.
